Went back to putting cash in envelopes last week after 3 years of trying apps. Three years ago I was all about using budgeting apps, thought I had it figured out. But last month I noticed my numbers weren't matching up, like I'd see I spent $400 on food but the app said $280. It was easy to ignore those little differences until I checked my bank and saw I was $600 over on my debt snowball target. Last week I drove to the bank downtown and pulled out cash for gas, groceries, and fun money, stuffed them in labeled envelopes like my grandma used to do. It feels so old school and honestly a little embarrassing, but I haven't missed a single payment since Monday. Has anyone else ditched the fancy tech and gone back to paper envelopes for a while?
