Warning: I spent 2 years complaining about my boss until I realized I was the problem
Worked at a call center in Phoenix for 18 months. Kept blaming my manager for my bad scores. Then he showed me my call transcripts side by side with a top rep and I saw I was talking over customers every single time. Anyone else have that gut punch moment where you had to admit you were doing it wrong?

Exactly, once you see the actual words you said on paper, you can't unsee it. I'd tell anyone to ask their boss for that kind of specific call transcript comparison as soon as they start a new job.

Wait, hold up - he actually pulled the transcripts and showed you? That's wild. I mean, I've had my share of bosses being jerks for no reason, but that takes some guts on his part. I'm sitting here thinking about how I'd feel if someone did that to me, and honestly, I'd probably be too embarrassed to look at myself in the mirror for a week. But you know what? That's the kind of tough love that actually sticks with you, not some vague feedback about "improving your communication style." It's one thing to know you're messing up, but seeing the actual words written out in black and white is a whole different level of reality check.
