That $200 'career coaching' package was a complete waste

I signed up for one of those online career coaching deals from a guy named Mark in Austin. Paid $200 for three sessions and all he did was tell me to 'update my LinkedIn' and 'network more'. Nothing I couldn't get from a free YouTube video. Has anyone else fallen for one of these overpriced coaching scams?

Same guy charged my friend $300 for "resume tips" he copied from Google.

All he did was tell me to 'update my LinkedIn' and 'network more'"... I mean, that is pretty standard advice but I guess it depends on how he delivered it. I had a career coach a few years back and she mostly called me out on my bad habits and gave me a kick in the pants to actually follow through on stuff I already knew. Sometimes paying someone is just a way to make yourself take it serious, even if the info itself is free. Sucks that Mark in Austin didn't offer anything extra though.
