Pro tip: Stop telling people to just 'follow their passion' without a plan
I see this advice all the time in here, but it's how you end up broke and back in another dead-end gig. My buddy quit his admin job to 'follow his passion' for pottery with zero savings, and he was delivering pizzas again in under three months. What's a better first step for someone who feels totally stuck?

Exactly. "Follow your passion" without a plan is just a shortcut to being broke. My cousin did the same thing with a food truck idea. He spent his whole savings on a truck before even checking if his city needed another taco stand. He was back at his old warehouse job in six weeks, totally wiped out.

Wait, he bought the whole truck first? That's the part that gets me. Like, maybe start with a pop-up tent at a farmer's market to see if people even like your tacos. You can rent a truck for a weekend to test it out. Going all in on a huge purchase before you have a single customer is just setting money on fire.

Honestly, passion without a plan is just a hobby.
