My manager said fixing the schedule software would take an afternoon, it's been three days.

The new system crashed and deleted everyone's shifts for the next two weeks. Anyone know a good scheduling app that won't ruin your life?

Three days for an afternoon fix is a huge red flag. That software sounds like it has deeper problems than just a bug. I'd start looking for a new system immediately.

Three days usually means careful testing, not broken software.

Our dev team actually had a similar timeline last year for a payment gateway bug. The three days included full testing in a staging environment and a scheduled off-hours rollout to avoid customer impact. Sometimes a slow fix is just careful process, not broken software.
