Appreciation post: That $150 online course on drafting concrete bids

Honestly, I was stuck doing the same small driveways and feeling like I'd never land a bigger contract, so I spent the money on a weekend course. Ngl, it taught me how to break down a job for a commercial parking lot, and I just won my first one. Has anyone else had a small investment actually kickstart a way out of a rut?

Funny enough, @laurar38, I used to roll my eyes at stuff like that, but now I get it. That course totally shifted how I present bids, and it paid for itself in one job.

Yeah, I read a blog post about this. The writer said the real value is learning the right language to talk to those bigger clients. It makes you sound like you know what you're doing, which is half the battle.

Learning the right language" is what finally clicked for me.
