Appreciation post: I walked past the old copy shop on 5th Street and saw the 'Help Wanted' sign is still up after 8 months.

It made me think about how I spent two years in a place just like that, running the same old machine and watching the clock, and I wonder if anyone else has ever gotten out of a spot like that and how you finally made the jump.

Honestly, that sign being up that long says more about the job than the workers. Tbh I got out by taking a night class for something totally different, even just one class broke the routine.

Yeah, that's such a smart way to shake things up.

Oh @shah.zara nailed it with the "shaking things up" thing. What was that night class in? I ask because it's wild how one small change like a certification or a random Tuesday class can totally rewire your brain to see other options. Was it something totally unrelated to your old job, like pottery or coding or whatever? Because I swear, when you're stuck staring at the same "help wanted" sign every day, you stop noticing the doors right in front of you.
