My morning commute got 12 minutes faster after they repaved I-95 last month

I've been driving that stretch for 5 years, and the old pothole-filled surface used to slow everyone down to 45 mph. Now with fresh asphalt, traffic flows at 65 even in the rain. Anyone else notice a big difference on their daily route after road work?

Fresh asphalt makes such a huge difference" - yeah that's what happened on the back roads near my house last year. Our daily shortcut went from a bumpy 35 mph crawl to a smooth 50 mph cruise, even on wet mornings when we used to hydroplane over the old patches. I swear the repaving paid for itself in saved gas and less wear on my suspension within a few months.

Huh, really? I mean, 12 minutes is a lot. My road got repaved and I barely noticed a difference.
