Tried those cheap SSD deals from that weird site, thought they'd be fake
I bought a 2TB NVMe for $45 from a site that looked like it was built in 2005, fully expected a brick in the box. It showed up in a plain bag, but I tested it and it's legit, running at 3,500 MB/s. Anyone else gamble on sketchy hardware and actually win?

oh snap i read about this somewhere! there's actually a whole subreddit dedicated to gambling on sketchy storage, people call it the "aliexpress SSD lottery" or something. apparently some of those smaller chinese manufacturers are dumping legit nand chips in plain packaging just to move product fast. i think they're using overstock from samsung and hynix factories. but man you got lucky, most of those $45 2TB drives end up being microsd cards taped inside a heatsink lol

Nah bro I kinda disagree. Those aliexpress drives are a straight up fire hazard waiting to happen, not worth the risk even if you get lucky once lmao.
