That fake coupon site got me for $40 last month
I was looking for a deal on some new kitchen towels and clicked a link that promised 80% off at a big store chain. It looked real enough, had the store logo and everything. I put in my email to get the coupon code, then it asked for $2.99 for 'processing.' I figured that was fine since I was saving so much. But after I paid, the code didn't work and the site just redirected to a blank page. I tried emailing their support but never heard back. So I lost $2.99 plus whatever the towels were going to cost full price. Has anyone else fallen for those shady coupon popups?

lmao I feel this in my soul because I fell for one of those fake oil change coupon sites last month and ended up paying $3 for a code that just took me to a regular car wash ad. At least I learned my lesson, now I just assume any deal that sounds too good is just my bank account's way of saying goodbye.

Man, that exact same thing happened to me last year with a tire shop coupon... $2.99 processing fee and then nothing but a blank white page. I felt so stupid after because it's just three bucks but it's the principle of it, you know. I still get emails from them sometimes trying to sell me other fake deals. It's everywhere now, those popups look so real with the store logos and everything.
