Shoutout to the local hardware store that saved me $60 on dog clippers

My A5 clippers died mid-groom on a matted poodle last Tuesday. I panicked and almost bought a new set from the pet supply chain for $120. Called around and found a mom and pop hardware store three blocks away that sells the exact same model for $60. They even had replacement blades in stock. Has anyone else found random non-pet stores carrying grooming gear for less?

Saved me $60" - yeah that tracks. It's funny how we just assume pet stuff has to come from pet stores or big box places. I've noticed more and more that random hardware stores and even feed stores carry all kinds of stuff way cheaper just because they don't slap "pet" on the label. Same blades, same clippers, same everything but half the price because it's sitting next to paint cans instead of dog toys. Makes you wonder how many other things we're overpaying for just because of the aisle they sit in.

Wait, you found clippers at a hardware store? That's wild. I totally get the panic though, my old clippers died on me mid-groom on a matted Shih Tzu once and I almost cried. It's so frustrating how pet stores jack up the price just because they put a dog on the box. I've had good luck at farm supply places too, they always have heavy duty stuff for way less.
