Had to choose between a warehouse club membership and a coupon stacking app for grocery savings

Last month I realized I was spending $85 a month on groceries and couldn't figure out where to cut. I compared Costco's $60 yearly fee against this app called CouponBot that costs $5 a month but gives cash back on everyday stuff. I went with the app because I don't buy in bulk much and I'm only one person. After 4 weeks I saved $12 which barely covers the app cost but no wasted food. Has anyone else tried something like that and found it actually works better?

You pretty much nailed my experience. I tried the Costco route first and ended up throwing away half a bag of spinach every week because I couldn't eat it fast enough. The app route saved me maybe $10 a month but at least I'm not wasting food or money on stuff I don't actually need.
