Walked into a Starbucks in Boise and waited 14 minutes for a black coffee

I went to the Starbucks on Main Street in Boise yesterday morning around 730. There were 4 people ahead of me in line and it still took 14 minutes to get a plain black coffee. The barista was on her phone for 2 of those minutes while the espresso machine just sat there. Does anyone else feel like fast coffee places have just given up on being fast?

I get where you're coming from about the barista being on her phone, that part sounds frustrating. But I think 14 minutes for a black coffee during morning rush is actually pretty standard for any busy coffee shop. Maybe give them a little grace knowing it was 7:30 AM when everyone's scrambling to get their day started.

Try asking for a pour-over or americano next time to skip the espresso machine wait.
