Am I the only one who noticed the bakery on Maple Street is a total ripoff now?
I stopped into Sweet Rise Bakery downtown yesterday for a loaf of sourdough. They wanted $9 for a single half-loaf that was smaller than my hand. Last year the same loaf was $5 and it actually had decent crust. I asked the girl at the counter if the recipe changed and she just shrugged at me. Who else has seen prices go up while quality tanks at local spots? Has anyone found a bakery that still bakes real bread under $6?
