Vent: Got my identity swiped at a coffee shop in Austin back in 2018

I was using their free public wifi to pay bills and some skimmer on the network grabbed my card info, so now I only do sensitive stuff on my phone hotspot or a VPN, has anyone else had a close call like that in a random cafe?

Right, that's why I never use public wifi for anything with money, isn't it wild how one click can mess up your whole year?

Honestly, is there anything more sketchy than public wifi? One click and your whole life's on the line. Just ain't worth the risk for a free coffee shop connection.
