Unpopular opinion: I thought fingerprint scanners were pointless extra steps

Ngl, I used to skip adding my fingerprint to logins because it felt like a hassle, until my friend's cat walked on my keyboard and somehow got into my bank app. That absurd scare made me see how a simple biometric check can block random access in a snap. What odd event made you start using a security feature you ignored before?

Man, your cat story is wild... I had a similar wake-up call with two-factor auth. Always skipped it because the codes were annoying, but then my little cousin guessed my gaming password and spent all my in-game currency. That was a brutal lesson... now I enable it everywhere, even for silly stuff. It's funny how a small hassle can save you from real headaches later.

Ever think about how these quick checks actually save you time? Like when your hands are wet from dishes and you need to check a recipe fast, a fingerprint is way quicker than typing a password. Or when you're half asleep and just need to turn off an alarm, face ID stops you from fumbling. It's not just about big security, it's about not getting locked out of your own stuff during daily chaos. That tiny extra step becomes the easiest way back in.

But do regular people actually need this level of security for everything? I get it for your bank, but for a streaming app or social media? If my niece gets into my Netflix, big deal, she just watches a cartoon. Sometimes it feels like we're adding locks to every drawer in the house even when there's nothing important inside.
