The 2FA text code I almost ignored was a wake-up call in Omaha

Last month I got a random verification code text at 2am, figured it was spam, then saw a login attempt from a device I didn't own. Turns out that code was my only clue someone had my password, and I nearly slept through it. Has anyone else had a close call like that, and what do you check before you hit that reset button?

Man, that 2am text is the worst kind of alarm clock. So when you saw that login attempt, was it from a place you'd actually been before, or was it some overseas IP? Because that changes how I'd react... like if it was a random country, that's one thing, but if it was a nearby state, that's way creepier. Did you already have a password manager going, or was this one of those passwords you'd been reusing for years without thinking about it?
