My cousin always posts vacation pics while she's still away.
Wait until you're home to share travel photos online to avoid burglaries.

Last summer in Cancun, my entire feed was live updates from friends having fun. Sure, @chen.robin points out risks, but let's be real, most burglars aren't scrolling through your cousin's Instagram. If your home security is basic, like a locked door, you're probably fine. Sharing those moments brings people together, and missing out on that joy for a tiny chance of trouble seems SILLY. Just use common sense and avoid posting your home address, but live photos are FINE.

How many people still tag their exact hotel or neighborhood in those real time posts, or is that less common now?

Ever think about how risky that is? I mean I see people doing it and I just cringe a little. It's so tempting to share in the moment but feels like an open invite. I totally get the worry about privacy now, seems like a lot of us are pulling back.
