Looking back at my old email security habits makes me cringe.

I used to think a strong password was enough to keep my inbox safe. Now, with so many phishing scams, I always check links before clicking. It's a lesson learned the hard way.

Checking links is smart, but hovering over them doesn't always work anymore (some scams hide the real address pretty well). A friend in IT told me even that trick can fail sometimes.

Isn't that a bit overblown? Most people aren't facing super advanced scams, and @drew_stone46, basic caution like checking links still stops most bad stuff. Getting too worried can make the whole web feel unsafe.
