Finally stopped using the same password for everything after my email got hacked last month

I had this one password I used since college for pretty much all my accounts. Last month someone got into my email through a breach at a forum I used years ago and started sending spam to everyone in my contacts. I switched to a password manager from Bitwarden and set up 2FA on my important accounts. Has anyone else had a wake up call like that after getting lazy with passwords?

Course that spam reaching everyone in your contacts is always the cherry on top of getting hacked, right? Had to explain to my dad why some random link about Bitcoin was sent from my email. Definitely learned my lesson after that.

Got hit by the same thing last year when someone got into my old MySpace account and started DMing people fake links. Now I use a password manager too and it feels so much safer. Better to learn the hard way than keep getting burned.

Did you try changing ALL your passwords after that happened?
