A phishing email almost cost me a client's trust.
Last Tuesday, I opened an email that looked exactly like a message from one of my clients. It asked for login details to update their service account, but the link went to a weird site. What's the best way to check if an email is real without bothering the sender?

Seriously, people make too big a deal out of phishing links. Most of them look fake anyway (like, come on, who falls for that?). Your friend probably just clicked without looking, which is on them. Spending all this time checking every email is a waste when you could just use common sense. These stories spread fear, but really, it doesn't happen that often. Just be a bit smart online and you'll be fine.

Does it seem like these fake messages are popping up more often? I get texts pretending to be from my bank and emails about packages I never ordered. It's made me double check everything now. For emails, I always look at the full sender address, not just the name. If I'm unsure, I'll find the company's contact info myself and call them. Taking that extra step avoids a lot of headaches.
