Went to a credit repair clinic in Phoenix and they pushed secured cards hard
Sat through a 2 hour seminar and the main takeaway was getting a $200 secured card for 6 months. Anyone else see big jumps with that strategy?

Heard a podcast where a guy said secured cards are basically training wheels for credit. Works if you treat it like a bill you have to pay. Six months of on time payments usually does bump your score some.

Training wheels huh. That makes sense but I wonder if the kind of card you get matters. Like are there some secured cards that just never let you upgrade to unsecured?
