Why does every prompt start with 'the door creaked open'

I run a small writing group at the library downtown, been doing it for maybe 2 years now. Last Tuesday I counted 14 submissions and 9 of them had some version of a creaky door or a rusty hinge in the first paragraph. I get it, doors are easy tension, but come on. It's like everyone read the same blog post from 2016 and never looked back. I started keeping a tally sheet and it's honestly kind of funny now, but also a little sad. Has anyone else noticed this pattern in their own writing or reading? What's a prompt detail you see way too often that you wish would just die out?

Man, at this point I should start a drinking game with that trope.
