Took me a full month to name a fantasy city
I got stuck trying to make a name that sounded right for the culture I built. Finally got it after reading a book on old trade routes. What's the longest you've been blocked on a small detail?

Spent two weeks deciding if a tavern should have a slate or thatched roof.

Seriously, what's the vibe of the place though? A thatched roof says cozy roadside inn, but slate feels more like a grim city tavern where shady deals go down. That choice tells you everything about the clients and the ale.

Oh man, that's so real. Got stuck for like three weeks once on whether a minor noble family's heraldry should have a hawk or a falcon. Drove myself nuts looking up medieval falconry guides. It feels so silly but it has to feel right or the whole thing falls apart. Susan's tavern roof thing is totally the same vibe. Sometimes you just stare at the screen until your eyes cross.
