TIL that switching from character-driven plots to plot-driven stories changed my writing completely
I used to only write stories where characters wandered around and thought about things for 50 pages. About 6 months ago, I tried a prompt that forced me to start with an event first like a car crash or a letter arriving. The difference was night and day. My word count went up by 30 percent because stuff actually happened. Has anyone else found that starting with action makes it easier to finish a story?
