The writing prompt app that kept rejecting my best ideas

I spent a week building out a story about a town where everyone forgets their dreams at dawn. The prompt generator I was using kept flagging it as 'too vague' and offered me topics about superheroes or vampires instead. So I deleted the app and went back to a paper notebook, which worked fine for me in 2019. Last Tuesday I wrote three prompts by hand in under an hour, and one of them got my best response yet on this forum. Anyone else find that these so-called smart tools just push you toward the same boring ideas everyone else is doing?
