Showerthought: I used to just grab random prompts online, but then I tried writing from a single object for a month.

For years I'd scroll through big prompt lists and never finish anything. Last month, I picked up a weird brass key I found at a flea market in Austin and wrote a different 500-word story about it every single day. The constraint forced way more creativity than any 'write about a dragon in a coffee shop' prompt ever did. The key became a spaceship ignition, a memory unlocker, a cursed heirloom. Has anyone else had better luck with a super specific starting point versus general prompts?

Wow, so you basically turned a flea market key into a full time job...

That "constraint forced way more creativity" thing is so real, I feel that.
