Question about using random word generators for story ideas
I used a popular word generator site for a month, getting maybe 50 prompts. Then I tried just walking around my local park for an hour and writing down ten things I saw. The park stuff gave me way better stories because it had real details, like a kid's blue shoe stuck in a tree. The generator words felt empty and forced a plot. Anyone else find that prompts from real life work better for them?

Totally used to swear by generators, but your park story convinced me otherwise!

Right? What finally broke you on them? I had a neighbor's generator spew smoke all over my laundry on the line last summer.

Blame it on generators being designed like they still live in 1985, no thought for anyone else. Seems like everything now is made to be convenient for one person and a mess for everyone nearby. Really makes you notice how much common sense got left behind in product design.
