Chose a handwritten journal over a writing app 5 years ago and never looked back

Back in 2019 I was stuck between using a fancy subscription app or just grabbing a $7 spiral notebook from Target. I went with the notebook because I liked the idea of leaving my phone in the other room. Now I've filled 12 of them and I can actually flip through old entries to see how my writing changed over time. The app probably would have auto-saved and organized everything but I think I would have gotten distracted by notifications too easy. Has anyone else picked pen and paper over digital for their rough drafts or prompts?

Oh man, the Target spiral notebook is where it all started for me too. I tried a few writing apps back in 2020 but kept getting sucked into social media or email notifications every time my phone buzzed. Now I've got a whole stack of those composition notebooks with the black and white covers, the ones that cost like a dollar at back to school sales. There's something really nice about seeing your handwriting change over time, like you can track your mood just by how slanted or messy the letters are. Plus when I'm staring at a blank screen my brain just freezes up, but a blank page feels way less intimidating for some reason.

Ngl, I kinda disagree-typing lets me get thoughts down way faster than my cramped handwriting ever could.
