My lender ghosted me 3 days before closing on a $1.2M deal
Had everything lined up with a local credit union here in Nashville for a small strip center refi. They approved the loan 6 weeks ago, did the appraisal, all that. Then the loan officer just stopped answering emails and calls. I had to scramble and found a private lender last minute but the rate was 2 points higher. Anyone else have a lender just vanish on them like that?

Yeah @lisa_bennett nailed it, lenders just bail with zero warning and it's always the worst timing.

Oh man, that is brutal (especially at that price point). Had a similar thing happen to me a couple years back on a duplex in East Nashville - the bank approved everything, then the loan officer just disappeared right before closing. Found out later he quit and nobody bothered to pick up my file. Ended up having to delay closing by two weeks and pay a small extension fee. It's wild how these lenders can just drop off the face of the earth with zero explanation.
