Was dead set against those anti-two-block devices until I almost killed a guy last Tuesday

The safety rep showed me a video of a crane tipping from a boom contact line and it took about 30 seconds to change my whole view on them, has anyone else had a close call that made them rethink a safety rule?

Yeah that video makes you real quiet real fast. Saw one where a bucket truck hit a 12kv line and the whole rig just exploded in sparks. Took less than a second. Now I don't even argue about the proximity alarms, I just wear the dang thing.

Man that bucket truck video is burned into my brain too. The proximity alarms feel like a joke compared to that. I started wearing mine 24/7 after seeing a similar clip where a lineman just brushed a primaries with his shoulder and that was it. The real scary part is how fast it happens, you dont even see it coming half the time. Now I dont care if the alarm chirps off every time I back up, ill take the annoyance over the alternative any day.
