Visited the Port of Long Beach last month and everyone raves about those new Liebherr cranes
I stood there watching one for 20 minutes and honestly I think the older Manitowoc models handle the heavy lifts way smoother with less wobble. Has anyone else noticed that or is it just me?

Twenty minutes watching a crane, must be nice" - yeah man, real sorry I don't have a schedule packed with cargo ship arrivals and container spreadsheets. Some of us actually enjoy seeing how the big toys work. But I feel you on the wobble. Watched one of those Liebherrs trying to pick a 40-footer during a light breeze and it looked like it was doing the hula. Meanwhile the old Manitowoc next to it was just sitting there solid as a rock. Maybe the new ones just need a few hundred more hours of salt air and abuse to get that loose feeling worked out.

Twenty minutes watching a crane. Must be nice to have that kind of free time. The new ones probably just need a proper break in period, but I get your point about the wobble. Those old Manitowocs have been through the wringer and you can trust them. Let the new stuff prove itself over a few more years of salt air and heavy loads.
