Tried spotting a load from the cab instead of the ground on a tight pick in Nashville
Ended up with a 4-inch gap on the landing pad because the blind spot on my 80-ton just ate the corner, and now I'm back to having a spotter every time even if the foreman grumbles about it. Any of you guys actually make cab-only picks work on jobs under 50 feet?

Ngl, backup cameras don't work for picks under 50 feet.

Put a backup camera on the headache rack pointed down at your rear corner. I rigged one up with a cheap monitor from an auto parts store on my 60 ton and it saved me from this exact mess. Costs maybe 200 bucks and the foreman can't say a word since you're still using the spotter for the final inch. Just tap it into your 12 volt aux and zip tie the cable to the handrail.
