The pin that took 6 hours to find because I skipped the manual
Had a Liebherr rental on a site in Reno last month and the outrigger beam locked up mid morning. I spent 4 hours chasing hydraulic pressure, swapping sensors, even called the rental house twice. Turns out there's a transport lock pin that seats flush with the frame and you have to pull it with a specific tool before the beam will travel. Found it on page 12 of the manual while I was eating a cold sandwich. Has anyone else fought a machine for half a day and then found the answer was something that dumb? I feel like we've all got one.

Watched my buddy chase a dead battery on a skid steer for five hours, swapping alternators and starters, only to find the kill switch was flipped under the seat. He found it when he stood up to throw his gloves in the cab and his knee hit the damn thing.
