The $600 hardline hose kit that never fit my Grove

Bought a pre-made hardline hose kit for my Grove RT530E last spring off a guy who swore it was the right spec. Got it on site in Tulsa, and the crane end connections were 1/8 inch off on both the hoist and boom lines. The return shipping would have cost me another $120, so I just ate the loss and had a local shop build me the hoses instead. Those took 2 days, but they fit perfect and cost $340. Anyone else had luck with universal kits or do you always go custom from the start?
