Started tracking my daily crane setup time and the results were clear

For three months I wrote down how long it took to get my tower crane ready each morning. It was averaging 47 minutes. I started laying out my gear the night before and pre-checking the weather for wind. After two weeks, my average dropped to 32 minutes. That extra 15 minutes every morning adds up to over a full work week saved in a year. Has anyone else tried timing their setup and found a simple fix that stuck?

My buddy at a steel yard timed his welding rig setup and saved ten minutes by color coding his leads. That visual cue stopped the morning fumble for the right cable. It seems like any repetitive task has a hidden time sink you can fix with a little tracking.

That's a great point from @nora_park72, and it shows how small fixes can add up over time.
