Pro tip: My camera hobby spots crane rigging issues I miss on site
I got into photography as a side thing, just snapping pics for fun. One day, I started taking photos of my crane setups before lifts. Looking at the pictures later, I caught a few small mistakes, like a hook not sitting right. Now, I make it a habit to review shots right after rigging up. It takes two seconds and has saved me from a couple close calls, no joke lol. My crew guy thought I was weird at first, but he asks for photos now too. It's like having a second pair of eyes without the hassle. Give it a shot if you've got a phone camera handy, it's a game changer.

Seriously? How bad were these close calls anyway? Sounds like stuff you'd catch just walking around the rig.

Exactly, that's what I was thinking. Diana314 gets it too, these were basic things you'd pick up just from being on site. Felt like they were making a big deal out of nothing.
