Just realized my partner was right about pre-lifts

My wife Jenna works in safety consulting and last week she pointed out I never do pre-lift checks before running a tandem pick. I told her I'd been doing this 15 years and didn't need to check the charts every time. Then she showed me a report from a site near Dallas where a crew skipped their pre-lift and dropped a 12 ton HVAC unit. Now I run through the list every morning even if it feels slow. Any of you guys actually use a formal checklist or just wing it like I used to?
