The $9 swim buoy that stopped the boat wake panic attacks
Tbh, I almost quit open water swimming after a jet ski nearly ran me over last month in Lake Travis. I started tying a bright orange inflatable buoy to my waist on every session, and it cost me $9 on Amazon. Last week, a fishing boat actually slowed down and gave me a wide berth because they saw the flag waving behind me. It also doubles as a rest float when my arms cramp up at the 800m mark. Has anyone else used one of these for the swim leg, or do you just rely on the race kayakers?
