Biking to the grocery store changed how I see my training
I used to drive 2 miles to the store, then realized that's the same distance I was struggling to finish on the bike. Now I take my hybrid with a basket, and it's a 15 minute spin that actually feels like part of my day instead of another chore. Has anyone else found a way to weave training into normal errands?

The real hidden benefit is how it changes your route planning. You naturally start looking for quieter, safer side streets instead of the main road, which is way more fun than grinding away on pavement. Those little navigational decisions actually make you a smarter rider without you even trying.

I get what you're saying @cole_walker26, but I actually think sticking to the main roads has its own benefits. When I ride on quieter side streets, I'm always dodging surprise potholes and dogs running out of yards, which feels more stressful than fun to me. Pavement might be boring, but at least I know what to expect and can actually focus on my cadence instead of playing traffic chess. Isn't the whole point of riding to get into a rhythm without all the stop-and-go chaos?
