Why does nobody talk about how fillers mess with your smile?

I got lip filler 6 months ago at a place in Austin and it looked fine at first, but now my upper lip barely moves when I grin. Has anyone else noticed their smile looking weird or stiff after getting injections?

Figure it's one of those things where you don't notice it unless you're really looking for it. Most people probably just think you're having an off day if your smile looks a little stiff. Plus, six months in, your body might still be settling with the filler. I'd say give it a full year before you start worrying too much about permanent changes.

That a year timeline sounds pretty specific - have you talked to anyone who actually saw permanent changes after 12 months, or is that just what the derms tell everyone? Six months seems like plenty of time for filler to settle, but I guess the body does what it wants. Just wondering if there's real-world evidence backing up that year mark or if it's more of a guess to keep people from panicking.
