Tried lip filler vs. Botox for my thin upper lip
Got lip filler twice last year in Austin, $600 total. Felt puffy and looked uneven for weeks. Switched to a lip flip with Botox for $150 and my upper lip finally looks natural. Anybody else find Botox works better for certain areas than filler?

The lip flip really is a different approach, and I think it makes sense for thin upper lips because it relaxes the muscle so the lip curls up naturally instead of looking stuffed. I've had filler in my cheeks and it worked great there since it adds volume without looking fake, but on the lips it just didn't sit right for me. The Botox technique is more about movement and shape than size, which is probably why so many people prefer it for that specific area. A friend of mine got both done and now just does the lip flip every few months because it's cheaper and she says it makes her look more like herself.

I got a lip flip about eight months ago and it was the best thing I ever did for my upper lip, which is super thin and always disappeared when I smiled. @betty_park62 mentioned the natural curl and that's exactly what I got, no frozen feeling either. Filler in my cheeks gave me the volume I wanted but on my lips it just looked weird, so the flip is my go to now.
