Trick that saved my under eyes: cold spoon from the freezer before filler

I get under eye filler twice a year and always bruised bad, like two black eyes for 10 days bad. My injector in Portland told me to hold a frozen spoon on the area for 5 minutes right before and right after, and this last round I barely had any bruising. Cost me nothing since the spoon was already in my kitchen. I know it sounds goofy but the cold really seems to shrink everything down before the needle goes in. Has anyone else tried this or heard something similar from their doctor?
