Rant: I just read that 40% of filler procedures are done by people without proper medical training.

I saw this stat in a report from a plastic surgery group in Chicago. It made me think twice about who I let near my face. How do you even check if someone is actually qualified?

That number is truly scary, and it lines up with what I've seen. A friend went to a "med spa" for lip filler and had a bad reaction. The person doing it was just a tech with a weekend course. Checking credentials is key. You have to ask to see their actual medical license and where they trained. Don't just trust the clinic's fancy website.

omg 100% this. my cousin went to one of those places for a "lip flip" and her face was messed up for weeks. turned out the girl running the needle was a former hairdresser who took a weekend workshop. i almost fell for a place near me with all these slick before/after pics on instagram, but i dug deeper and found out the "nurse injector" was actually just a medical assistant with zero licensure for injections. it's honestly terrifying how many people are getting poked by unqualified folks in strip malls with cute names. you gotta ask to see their actual state board license number, not just their business card.

Spot this everywhere now with people trying to cut corners. They'll pay for a cheap botox deal from someone who watched a few youtube videos. It's like we forgot some things just need real training.
