Overheard a client talk about her first Botox in 2004 and it stopped me cold
I was at a coffee shop yesterday and the woman next to me was telling her friend about getting Botox for the first time almost twenty years ago. She said she had to drive two hours to the only doctor in the state who would even do it, and she paid over $800 for her forehead (which is wild to think about now). It made me remember when these things were this huge, secretive deal you only heard about in whispers, not something people chat about openly while waiting for a latte. Now, it feels like it's just another normal thing to consider, like getting a haircut. I guess my takeaway is how much the whole vibe has shifted from something you hid to something you might just mention in passing. Has anyone else noticed how casual the talk around this stuff has gotten compared to, say, ten or fifteen years ago?

Yeah, it really has become just another part of the chat. I remember when it felt like some huge, hush-hush secret. Now it's so normal it barely gets a second thought.
