My sister told me her filler dissolved faster because she drinks a lot of water

We were talking at her place in Tacoma last weekend, and she mentioned her lip filler only lasted about 4 months. She said her injector told her it's because she drinks over a gallon of water every day, which can make your body break it down quicker. I always thought hydration was just good for you, period. It made me wonder how many other daily habits actually affect how long these things last. Has anyone else heard something specific from their doctor about what shortens or extends results?

My injector in Seattle told me the exact opposite, that staying hydrated helps filler look more natural and might even make it last longer. She said sun exposure and high intensity workouts that really get your heart pumping are what break it down faster. I cut back on long runs and noticed my cheek filler lasted a solid 10 months instead of 8.

Interesting how injectors have such different takes. Read a derm's blog post that said the same thing about exercise, that heavy cardio speeds up your metabolism and can process filler faster. The hydration part makes sense too, since filler binds with water in your skin. Sun damage breaking down collagen probably doesn't help filler either.
