My lip filler looked off for 2 years until a new nurse asked me one question
I went to the same injector for 5 years and always had this weird bump above my lip on the left side. A new nurse at the clinic asked if they used cannula or needle on me - I had no idea there was a difference. She switched me to cannula and now I'm wondering how many other people are getting bad technique without knowing it?

3 years and probably $3k later and it turns out I just needed someone to ask the right question. My old injector was using a needle the whole time too and I had this lumpy situation going on near my Cupid's bow that I just assumed was normal swelling or scar tissue. The new girl switched me to cannula at my last appointment and suddenly my lips actually look like lips instead of a half-deflated balloon with a knot in one corner. Feels like going to a mechanic for a mystery noise for 2 years and then finding out they just never checked the oil.

Honestly, the needle versus cannula thing is a solid example but it's worth noting that cannula isn't automatically better for everyone. Tbh, needle injections can actually be more precise for small volume work like defining the Cupid's bow, a good injector should know when to use each. Ngl, the real issue here sounds more like your old injector just wasn't skilled enough to notice and fix that bump regardless of what tool they grabbed.
