My filler appointment turned into a three-day ordeal with swelling
I went in for a routine lip filler top-up at a clinic in Scottsdale last Thursday. The injector was new to the practice, but I figured it was a simple procedure. By that evening, my lips were so swollen I could barely talk, and the bruising was worse than I'd ever had. I called the clinic Friday morning, and they told me to just ice it, but the swelling kept getting bigger. I ended up in an urgent care on Saturday because I was worried about vascular issues, and the doctor there said the placement might have been too aggressive. It's finally going down now, but it was a scary reminder that even 'simple' procedures carry real risk if the technique is off. Has anyone else had a bad reaction from a seemingly experienced provider?

My friend's cheek filler migrated... she looked lopsided for months.

Wow, that's rough for your friend, @lunaw72. But honestly, migration is just a known risk with fillers, not some crazy surprise. A good injector would have told her that can happen. Maybe she just had a bad reaction or the wrong type for her face. Sometimes the body just moves it around, it's not always the doctor's fault.
