Laser hair removal at 40 vs waxing at 25, what a difference

I got my first laser session on my legs last Tuesday at a clinic in Portland. Back in my 20s I used to wax everything every 5 weeks, no big deal. Now after two kids and way less patience, I spent $380 for a package of 6 sessions and I already see less growth after one visit. My skin is way less angry too, no red bumps for days. Has anyone else switched from waxing to laser later in life and felt like they wasted years on the old way?

Yeah, "skin is way less angry" really hit home for me. I did the same switch in my late 30s after burning through a decade of waxing appointments and dealing with ingrown hairs like clockwork. The first time I did laser on my underarms I remember thinking, why did I put myself through that monthly scrubbing and tweezing nonsense for so long? The money I spent on waxing over the years probably covered two full laser packages honestly. My only regret is waiting until my skin got more sensitive and my patience got thinner before making the change.
