Hit 200 syringes of Botox and nobody noticed, that's the point right
Last Tuesday my injector casually said "okay that's number 200" while I was getting my forehead done. I've been going to the same place in Austin for 7 years and never kept count. It hit me that 200 syringes later I still look like me, just less tired. My sister thought I was 35 last month and I'm 44. So the milestone mattered because it proved I didn't go overboard, I stayed consistent instead. Anyone else track their total units across years or is that just my obsessive spreadsheet brain? What number made you stop and actually think about it?
I never counted syringes but I did count spray tans one summer and hit 40 before I lost my mind laughing about it. My cousin is the one who counts things, she has a whole notebook of every manicure she's gotten since 2016. When she hit 100 she brought a tiny cake to the salon and everyone was so confused. The weird part is she said the number made her realize she'd been going every 3 weeks for years without ever once thinking about it. Now she goes every 5 weeks because the count made her stop and question the habit. Numbers sneak up on you when you're just living your life.
Got me thinking about what else we do on autopilot without ever looking at the numbers. Like how many times have I driven the same route and never once wondered why I take the long way past that one exit? Your cousin's thing with the count is interesting because the number itself wasn't the point, it was what the number made her see. So here's what I want to know: when she cut back to every 5 weeks, did she actually miss the extra appointments or did she just feel weird not going? Because there's a difference between a habit you enjoy and a habit you're just stuck in, and the count only shows you the habit, not which one it is. Did she ever figure that part out?
